These are our core benefits and main features. As the project is under development, we decide what to keep and what to add. Our goal is to create a useful tool for filmmaking.
Generate and reading TC. SMPTE 12M Standard. Currently works in 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97DF, 30 FPS.
Timecode and scene number display. You can set the scene number. The TAKE is automatically added at the “clap”.
Scene and timecode logging for subsequent ordering of material (save on SD card + IMSLATE application).
Now (March-April 2024) we are producing the first batch of firecrackers for customers who pre-ordered earlier. If you would like to purchase a firecracker, please contact us and we will advise you on the timing.
So, what was included in the final version?
Each production has its own scheme. Some people mark only the scene and the take, while others add a roll and media. Therefore, we gave the opportunity to change the scheme. You can make two X-T registers, or you can make four X-X-X-T registers, or you can make three, etc.
In total, we store five variables: roll, scene, episode, shot, take.
We have added a module operating at 433 MHz to transmit timecode and scene number to IMSLATE Colibri.
Colibri can operate in three modes: generator, timecode reader and special, as a slave of the IMSLATE TC-1 clapperboard. Thus, the clapperboard can be used as a timecode master on set, and the slaves can be plugged into the camera and recorder.
Now, using a smartphone (only iOS for now), you can control the clapperboard from a distance. Configure, monitor and manage.
For example, you can set timecode, userbits, frequency and much more.
In addition, you can receive the current timecode and scene number from a distance.
How could this be possible? Well, of course!
Now (if there is a signal) you can receive the coordinates of the place where the take was made, and then use this data in the IMSLATE Workstation program.
In addition, we have set up time zones and you can get the real current time of the take, as well as set the timecode from the current time in the shooting region.
Previously, our movie clapperboard could not update the software. To get a new version, we had to take it to our laboratory. Now we have taught it to update firmware itself.
All you have to do is follow the news, and when a new version of the software comes out, download it, put it on a flash drive and update!
We did a great job on the software. We made everything stable, and if a problem arises, the movie clapper will try to fix it, and if it doesn’t work, it will give an exact answer what’s wrong.
In addition, we worked on usability and care. For example, a backup copy of your last takes is one of them.
As of now (September 2023), our latest third prototype model released is IMSLATE-TC-COMPOSITE-GR-01. The body is composite, plastic with fiberglass and wood. The clapperboard reads and generates timecode in 23.976, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97DF, 30 frames per second modes.
We are testing this prototype and improving the firmware. We want to understand weaknesses in order to eliminate shortcomings and improve stability.
P.S.: In February 2024, we released the fourth prototype.
We try to cooperate with as many film companies as possible to receive feedback and improve our product. Knows how to listen and loves constructive criticism. We love our product and work on it every day.
Leave your contact information for pre-order. We will contact you and tell you what to do next. We will also send you the most important news.
We will not spam. Only on business.
IMSLATE is an electronic clapper with timecode generation and reading function. The system also includes a program with which you can organize your footage, thus saving time in post-production.
We are currently in the development phase and the final features are yet to be determined. We are listening to the filmmaking community to improve the clapper. We are also cinematographers and are constantly testing our product. Our goal is to create a handy assistant that will save you time and money.
